I have a Mesa MK I RI (EVM 12L) with the Gil Ayan mods. I've just started to use it regularly and it seems the high end is a little brittle and harsh compared to the Studio .22+ (with an Altec speaker) I've been using. Any ideas on things I can do to warm it up and sweeten the sound? It's almost like the amp is struggling to get the sound out but something is holding it back. The power tubes are pretty fresh (Svetlana/Winged C) and I hand selected the preamp tubes. It has a bias pot so I can use different power tubes. Maybe I just need to crank it up more often!
