  • Stage 112 cuts in and out

    Hey fellas,

i have a fender stage 112 (solid state). when im on the drive channel, the volume drops down to nothing, and then comes back up, every time i hit a note.

i cleaned all the controls, and made sure there were no cold joints....any ideas?

    thanks in advance!

    -Sam :-)

The most likely cause is a bad insert jack. Input jack too. Those amps are notorious for bad jacks and cold solder joints. Good luck!

Does it ONLY do this on the drove channel? Or does it do it on all channels? DO clean the power amp in jack and any insert type jacks like John says, but they wouldn't selectively affect one channel. If it is acting sorta like a crappy compressor, then I would look for some DC offset on the output pin of one of the op amps in that channel. At least for a first guess. ANd my wild guess might be a leaky mute/routing transistor - one of those JFETs.
