  • 2uf 25v Caps

I'm building a blackface champ and was wondering if you guys know where i can get 2uf 25v caps this cap goes to pin 8 of the 12AX7 and is in parallel with a 1K5 resistor. Can i substitute another value or does it need to be 2uf? Another question I would like to ask is what is the Low Impedance side of this circuit any help would be great. Thanks.

That is such a common value, you should be able to find it anywhere, Mouser, Newark, even Radio Shack. The modern value would be 2.2 uF.

The real question here: Is the correct value 2uF or 25uF? I don't know what version of the amp you're building, but I think 25uF is the more standard value for bypass caps in blackface Fenders.

I've had Champs with both values. IME 2uf has been most common there.

I've used two 1uf paralleled for that in the past. I like 25uf better though.
