  • Scratchy gain pot

I have a fender classic 30 here... the gain pot on reverb channel is scratchy. I have sprayed it out w/ no luck. Am I right that this is either the pot or a coupling cap leaking DC? What would I check first?

schematicheaven.com has schem... for some reason I cannot paste the link here.

Peavey CLassic 30 I know. Fender Classic 30???

COme on now, which to check first? Check for voltage. If there is voltage there, the new pot would scratch too. If there is no voltage, change the pot.

      enzo,
yeah i guess dumb question... but sometimes I feel if I ask people on the forum they might clue me into something I don't already know. I knew it was either a cap or pot, but thought I'd post anyway cause there is so much knowledge on this forum... sorry if my question was irritatingly lame.
