  • twin reverb doesnt turn on

    ...hello all,
    Im new in this forum
I have a dumb question but you know, Im a player and not a technician
but I live miles from one, so Im here with this problem:
the amp have been working pretty good
but today (few weeks without using it) does not turn on
it s there supply of electric power (closer I hear the hum) but the red light doesnt turn and obviously the valves doesnt turn on too
the fuse seems ok, but I dunno

is there a practical an easy way (for a non tech guy) to find a cure?
    to test something?

thank you very much for your time

Sounds like you either have a short or bad connection right at the pilot light bulb assembly. Try taking the pilot light out and putting it back in and see what happens. Sometimes the insulator will move or wear out and the two 6.3 AC volt heater wires will touch. It could be a bad solder joint on the tube sockets as well but without amp experience I'd be extremely careful where you go poking around in it as there are voltages that can kill you in there if you grab the wrong one.

...the connections seems ok, may be a short
but just thinking that the last day of use I d plug in a Fender Bronco to the Twin to try obtain a bit of crunch...but I had a tremendous noise signal so I turned off everything out

may be that kill the amp?
