  • Gretsch playboy amp vibrato problem

    i have a gretsch playboy amp
    the vibrato makes a rhymthic sound which increase with a change in speed
    it sounds like a heart beat
    it is audible at mid intensity and gains speed as the speed is increase

    what might cause this and a possible repair idea

        Based on the schematic, the tremolo oscillator modulates the bias to the first pre-amp tube, instead of to the power tubes.

        I'd first try changing V1, the pre-amp tube and/or V2 the tremolo tube.
