Ampeg Rocket 2 Handle

Hey all, replacing the handle on a Rocket 2
the smaller type that has the ends riveted in.

They don't pull out, do they?

I'm guessing I have to remove the metal insert that's stapled into the cabinet top and drill out the rivets.

Handle comes with T - nuts that grab into the wood and screws.

So I guess I answered my own stupid question.

Ampegs are annoying with several different handle styles and sizes.

Unfortunately the nice blue leather ones like I have won't fit in this amp.

Okay, actually the handle isn't held down by rivets, but by finishing nails with the split in the middle.

there's probably a technical name for them, (pop rivets?)
You can pry them up with care and can be reused if desired.
