Semi-related, I had a 6505+ recently with the complaint of a random high pitched squeal and a decent level of constant hum. I never could get it to squeal but finally took the main board out to test the caps and they were all surprisingly high ESR. Of course the owner cheaped out and I didn't get the chance to replace them and test my theory of the caps being the culprit of both the hum and squealing
