I have a Fender (red knob) super 60 that I purchased second hand for a good price. It sounds great but there are a few minor issues I want to get around to.
On the EQ, when I turn the mid knob either way there is a noticeable change in tone, but it isn't as dramatic as it probably should be. And when I turn that mid knob the amp crackles a lot and the volume cuts in and out. When I set it, I also have to wait about 10-20 seconds for the volume of the amp to even out and work as the volume fluctuates a lot after I adjust the mid settings. After this, when the volume returns to normal the amp works fine, but I do think that the mid dial may be broken in some form. I'm new to tube amps so maybe I need to replace the amp tubes?
There is also a somewhat similar reverb problem. The reverb knob (unlike the mids) doesn't change anything (it just completely doesn't work). So any ideas as to whether this could both be connected to a similar problem as the mid knob (I don't really think they are related but maybe?). Or perhaps the reverb just needs to be replaced/repaired separate to this issue of the mid EQ.
So basically
1) What could be the problem of the Mid EQ knob?
2) If the problem is something like the tubes need to be replaced, is the broken reverb a similar fix or does it need to be repaired/replaced separate to this issue?
Thanks
