The tests Helmholtz had you doing were to check if C24 was doing it's job (posts #106 & 115).
You verified that it is not doing it's job. So either C24 or it's connections are bad. Replace it and make sure it's connections are good.

Actually just redid the shorted R25 test.. & the damn noise is there. Dammit.

Apologies, I didnt turn both volknobs simultaneously before.

Could anyone help me a bit more on this?

So I've jumped across R25, & R24 to test their respective capacitors (I believe).. but loud earthy " GRRHUMM! " noise remains.

Would it be carrying on the same idea, with the next cap-?
