I do that all the time, especially the tough ones. I'll battle something for hours at work. Then, I'll be sitting at home watching TV or something and the solution will just randomly pop into my head. The next day, I go right to the fix. Sometimes a little brain break helps.

Oh yes. I have so many schematics in my head. One day at the music store way back when, the boss comes in and I am just sitting there on my stool, and he says something to the effect "shouldn't you be working?" I said, "I am working." I was going through a circuit in my head.Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.Comment
