  • Rivera R55 cap popped

C2 on this Rivera R55 burned and popped....it's between the high voltage secondary legs, rated at 0.1uF/440VAC.

what would cause this cap to blow? i've not measured voltages or determined if any other components are bad yet. Just looking around so far.

    and what about the 440VAC rating....can I sub in a 600VDC mallory 150?

Me, I'd rather see you use a 1000v cap.
