  • Acoustic 136 Volume Pot

One of the channel's volume pot has no stop. It just keeps going around. The print shows a 50K pot. Is it audio taper, reverse audio, or linear?

    Thanks.

Audio (log) taper is most likely for a volume control.

Is it possible that the back cover of the pot has come loose? Most pots have a tab on the back cover that acts as the stop for the wiper.

I would replace it anyway, it has already been compromised by having delicate wiper going over rough uneven leg rivets instead of soft smooth carbon track.

Just to confirm, please somebody post schematic here.

              Thanks Tom.

Clearly a conventional voltage divider volume pot, so Audio/Log type.

The option would have been a grounded wiper type one, quite popular way back then , and there a linear or reverse log type would be appropriate.

Thanks everyone. I assumed audio taper, but we know what happens when we just assume.
