  • Mesa MKIII - Bias Woes?

Hi, all - and Happy Holidays to ye.

I'm having trouble locating a schematic for the MKIII's power amp, so I'll ask here and see if any of you Gandalf's can throw me a bone. My customer brought this in after seeing a flash behind the amp on power-up. There's a shorted tube amongst the quad of mismatched glass. Looks like the previous owner didn't heed that paragraph in the manual!

Caps all test great with no leakage. As I was making my way around the sockets, I measures-32/-46vdc on V6/7 and +211vdc on V8/9. Since I can't find a layout or schematic, I'm just poking around in the dark. I may have found a shorted PI coupling cap leading to this pair. Hard to tell. Any advice here? TIA

This is what I have for MkIII. Not sure if the schematic labelling of the tube order corresponds with your numbering. And which pins #'s you are taking readings on?

I feel like such a novice. I resolved it on my own. Pesky shorted coupling cap lol. TY for weighing in brother.
