Started to refurb a blackface Pro Reverb today. This is what I found when I pulled the chassis. I guess you can fit oversized caps "in" the dog house if you're willing to put in the effort.

I'm going to bend it back into shape and run a solder bead along the rips. It won't be pretty, but I'll put the buggered up part on the knob side so you won't see it anyway. That.s definitely the biggest crap I saw in an amp, ever . Yes- bulgy and bad. The amp is getting re-capped anyway, so replacing the oversized caps isn't an additional cost. New caps will fit just fine, as intended. I have a blackface Showman with that exact same alteration. It is also heavily modded and gooped with silicon caulk and black spray paint. Yeah, someone thought they were a genius..Comment

Amprepairparts.com has them for $24. Probably get them elsewhere.

As Enzo states, replace the housing. Not expensive and it will be as it should again.
