Tone stack question

So are you having this problem with the tonestack as shown in the schematic snippet, or have you modified it in any way?
IMO the controls are not especially interactive, no more than is typical for guitar anyway.
If you want a passive tonestack that's less interactive I think you're pretty much stuck with a "passive Baxandall" or (more interactive than Baxandall) James. Or keep the controls seperate with an active device between to buffer them.
