  • MG100HDFX - Help required please.....

Hi to all, great forum and very informative.
My MG100HDFX has developed a fault in that its blowing the input fuse, (1.6A), and ideas ?, or perhaps someone could give me a good steer to a circuit diagram if possible.
    - no probs with electronics and finding my way about on this, obviously I'll be checking the transformer O/p, bridge and smoothing caps, (or is ther a fault common to these amps that perhaps you guys know about) ?
Many thanks and any assistance very greatly appreciated.

    Have a nice day all

Far more likely the power amp chip is blown. The TDA7293 is on a small pc board mounted to the heat sink. Disconnect the cable from that small board, and powr up the amp. If it holds the fuse now, then the IC is bad.
