I have 2 67 bassmans that were rode hard and put up wet. is there an easy way to tell which circuit I have aa864 or ab165? I see no tube sheet on the side.

Just now checking posts. What you've already seen is what I was going to suggest because it's how I did this for someone else here recently. Not your two models but the following two, I think. At any rate, it's the small, more subtle differences that need to be looked for when the basic design for the signal path remains more consistent.

IIRC, on the AB165 the green wire from the OT is grounded and the Black wire is connected to the speakers.
WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel. REMEMBER: Everybody knows that smokin' ain't allowed in school !
