  • PT for Peavey Backstage

Surprised at how difficult it has been to track down a replacement PT for a Backstage II amp. Number is 705-17950. I don't really want to go to a lot of trouble retrofitting something to this little chassis on an amp I can buy used for $100.

Anyone better at this than I am?
It's weird, because it WAS working fine.....

If you can't fix it, I probably can.

The amp is over 40 years old, PV will not have the part.

All I know is it is a Backstage II solid state. I have tried emailing Peavey, they don't respond. I called once, they did not answer. Their parts program and service staff is not what it once was in my experience.

I already looked at TAD, he doesn't have it.

I'm guessing this is a lost cause.

Randall, I have two that might work for you. LMK if you need more measurements or voltages:

Thank you very much xtian. The call has been made to cease and desist on this amp. Not really worth any more time.

                Xtian's transformers

705-18712 it is about a 30-0-30 transformer, which rectifies and filters to about 40vDC rails. It is used in the Bandit, the Backstage Plus, the Basic 40/50/60models, the Studio Pro 40/50 models

705-18711 I am no6t sure what that was used in. Should be similar era I note it is smaller so used in less powerful models.

Rockin' Johnny can use it as an extension cab now the amp's been condemned.
This isn't the future I signed up for.
