Doing piece work for someone who wants to tell you how long it should take may become problematic.
Why someone capable of doing repairs themselves wouldn't spend half an hour doing it seems odd.

Well I have MG100DFX and MG100HDFX, but not MG100FX, and those two use the chip amp.

Have we determined if either you or the store is an authorized warranty repair shop? Unless the industry has changed, warranty repairs are only done at such shops. Warranty does not mean someone can take an amp to a local shop and get it fixed and then get reimbursed. In other words, if the amp is indeed under warranty, are you authorized to repair it?

According to the owner yes, so I have no reason to doubt it. Can't find a service center list on any Marshall website.

Wow, I just spent a half an hour trying to find Marshall USA and warranty service. I could only get a tease. UK Marshall just says contact USA distributor, doesn't say who or where. About as close as I get is Exertis.

Exertis is Jam industries. Here is their service locator. It will only show me Canadian ones, I guess it detects my location, even if I ask for Oregon.

Yep, I found that, and sure enough it only gave me Canadian service centers. SO far I have not found USA support.

I feel bad that somehow now II am wasting people's time with this goose chase. I should at least be wasting everyone's time with tech questions.

You are not wasting my time, I am wasting my time. I want to know this information. I want to be able to direct people to this resource. I hope... I am retired, I got no pressures I could be watching music videos at Davie504 or maybe young women taking off their clothes.

Here it is. Just select 'service center' instead of 'retailer': https://marshall.com/recommended-retailers

Aha. I looked and there is a listing in Lansing, for Marshall Music (No relation) They no longer sell nor service guitar amps.

That is OK. Owner can be the entity. You are dealing with it in whatever form.

Sorry for deleting the post above, I'd rather not put the shop name out here and realized I was pretty close to doing that.

Just out of curiosity I checked it, they *only* offer Canadian shops, period.

Even if I used my Sisterīs address in Orange County California and it obviously detected I am in Argentina.

Closest one was in Victoria, CA, 1713 km away.

                            As of

                            , not necessarily.

If I ask a service station guy to change oil and filters and he says it will take 6 hours I can call it bollocks, even if I canīt/wonīt do it myself..

I guess they have ordered same job many times before and they have a reference time.

I charge an hour minimum for a repair, not because it will take me an hour, but because that is my base rate. After doing a few I might need only 15 minutes, but I am not going to discount my skill and experience, plus the fact that part of my fee includes the fact I have a facility in which to do the work, and do it professionally, plus I stock most parts already. And I know what I am doing. I am not just doing grunt work like digging a hole or bussing tables. This also helps support the repairs that take way too long and don't get charged the entire labor bill.

Your 100FX uses discrete output transistors. A very simple amplifier and easy to work on in my view.
Schematics are copyright and I am not at liberty to disclose them.
If you are not familiar with these, my advice is to send it to someone who is more qualified.
