  • Disconnecting internal 2-10 speakers on Peavey Delta Blues

Sorry about the novice question, but how do I disconnect the internal 2-10 speakers on a Peavey Delta Blues so that only the extension speaker in connected? There is a black and a white wire, the black wire going to one speaker the white to another. If I just disconnect the white wire that will accomplish the goal; is that correct? I did it once before just can't remember if I need to disconnect both the black and white wires.

The amp chassis connects to the speakers with two wires. Disconnect one or both. Either way the speaker circuit is opened. Tape off the bare end and secure it.

In this model and in the Classic 30 the external speaker output is assigned to the 8 Ohm secondary. With internal speakers disconnected, the external cabinet must be of that impedance.
