  • Fender acoustasonic 150 goes silent after power on

    Hi,
My Fender amp sounds a few seconds at power on, and drops like in mute. I have got on this forum (thanks for sharing) the schematics which are the same as Fender rumble V3, but I can't find the reason of the trouble. The rails seem to be correct (-/+ 37V), and the preamp works fine (the preamp out is OK on an other amp). The PA_MUTE control on the pin23 of the TDA8950 is at 4,5V in run mode, and 1,5V in mute mode.
The TDA8950 is very hot (with no signal in input...). I have replaced it, but there is no change.
I have checked the jacks of the effects loop.
The two channels are in trouble.
Any idea of a possible reason?
    Thanks in advance

Have you checked your load to make sure you have proper impedance? Possibly there is a short or near shorted load.

The speakers are OK; I'll check the filters of the outputs.

Filters seem to be OK, any other idea about this trouble?

          The TDA 8950 is a self-contained amplifier.
Provide it with power, signal and a run voltage & they work.
Maybe you received a bogus replacement chip.
