  • JHS little black box into footswitch... damage? DSL5R

I've been silly and when plugging in my JHS little black box to the FX loop I've managed to plug one jack into the FX loop and the other to the footswitch. The amp is a Marshall DSL5R. I turned the amp on and turned the JHS knib a few times which changed the channel of the amp, then switched the amp off and corrected the cables.

The amp now. Seems to be functioning as normal. Could I have damaged the amp in doing this? The JHS black box is a passive pedal and isn't powered.

    Looking for some reassuring really.

    Thanks!

No damage is likely - the box only contains a potentiometer. When you turned the knob it connected the output side to ground when fully counter-clockwise, so your amp would see that effectively as a switch closing on the foot switch input. If there was any DC present on the foot switch, your FX loop would not be troubled because it's isolated from DC by capacitor coupling.
