  • Fender solid state Super Reverb- no reverb

That's right folks, an SR4050 solid state version of a Super Rreverb, haven't seen one of these amps since the 90's

Went through this amp and have it working nicely

Anyway, reverb send amp was bad, replaced Q16 and Q17 and the white Mallory caps in that circuit and have a nice 4-6 v p-p signal to the tank.

Does anyone know what type of reverb tanks they used on these amps? Customer supplied a tank for a tube SR which obviously won't work.

I have a few tanks for solid state reverb circuits, but even those just kill the reverb send signal when connected. The return signal amp is nice, a good strong signal there

I'm getting some reverb, but it's pretty weak. This normal for these?

I gathered up some more power transistors for Q16 & 17 to try, maybe that will help.

And thanks to Steve L for posting the schematics for these amps.

The schematic shows the reverb input isn't grounded to the tray. Check the ones you've tried to make sure they're the correct configuration.

      Cool!
replaced Q16&17 with a matched pair of heavy duty drivers and have some good old swampy reverb!
