Fender stage 100

I have a Fender stage 100 not the dsp, the original one. It makes a heavy hissing noise and the guitar is barely audiable through it? Anyone have any ideas what may be going on?

Firstly you need to know where it is coming from.
Plug a guitar lead into the power amp in socket, that will disconnect the pre amp section from the power amp.
If there is still hiss, it is a power amp issue, otherwise dig into the preamp side by adjusting the controls and look for diferences.
That will at least show you where to start.
