I am working on this infinity amplifier. It has 2 speakers. You wire a pair of speakers like this in parallel, correct? Sorry I don't remember how the speaker wires where back in Aug when I started working on this amp. Thanks Eb

I really depends on what impedance the amp is expecting to see. If the speakers are 8ohms each & the amp is expecting (or can handle) a minimum 4 ohm load, then wire them in parallel (plus to plus & minus to minus & connect the amp to the plus & minus, too). 8ohm & 8ohm in parallel, half to equal 4ohms.
If for instance you had 2ea 4ohm speakers & the amp was only capable of driving a minimum of 4 ohms, you would have to wire them in series (plus of one to the minus of the other, then connect the amp to the remaining minus of one & the remaining plus fo the other....like a daisy chain. The resultant resistance of that would be 8ohms. they add in series.

Infinity sounds like a hi-fi amp & as I recall they were all solid state. So a 4 or 8 ohm load should be tollerable. glen -

Thank you very much Glen!!! The memory comes back now of how I leaned the difference of series & parallel wiring back in high school. The speakers are wired in parallel in this amp as the manufacture made each spreaker with a 2 post connector to allow you to easily wire the speakers in parallel. Yes the infinity is all solid state.
