  • vox valvetronics self test mode

    hi guys.....love this site
anyway, i have an ad60vth with noise added in to the signal
i got the schematic from enzo ( thanks E ) and the last page talks about self test mode but does not have any info on how to interpert the readouts.
does anyone have any info on this mode?
vox just refers me to local techs for $95 an hour ( only paid $185 for the head...lol ).
    thanks

They didn't give us a codes map.

But the question isn't what do all the codes mean, the question is what is wrong with the amp and where are you seeing what code. I know you see it on the display, I mean where in the process.

I mean if error 12345 means "checksum error," what will you do with that information?

What would your response be to interrupt violation?

      lol
at least i understand thoses terms
worked with mini - puters and main frames for 30 yrs
i put it in test mode and it only uses a 1 digit readout...sooo
i put it in audio test....it puts out tone on ch1,3 and 4 but not ch2...??
      have no idea....
just trying to get as much info as possible
if it did give me computer errors i would prob just replace the processer
      thanks

How does it function when played through?

the amp plays and sounds pretty good, its just that you can hear a noise componet when you play some notes and if you let any note ring and decay, you hear the noise as the signal level get lower.
earlier tests put the noise before the power amp ( dont know if its involved with the dummy power amp stage cause i dont know where that stage is )
the self test audio is supposed to test the a-d/d-a stages but i dont know how to interpert the fact that there is sound on ch1,3,4 and not on ch2
ive got no sig gen and no scope so im lost...lol
          thanks
