  • 84/6Z4 Rectifier Capacitor ?

    Hi folks. Could anyone tell me what value filter cap an 84/6Z4 rectifier could handle? The schematic shows a 12uf. Thank you ! Click image for larger version

    Datasheet suggests 40µ with an effective secondary impedance of at least 65R.

      Thank you. So using a 16uf in place of the 12uf would be fine as long as it isn't above 40uf?

        Yes. 16uF is fine. Older electrolytic tolerances were quite wide anyway. Using a 22uF might be cheaper since it's a more common value.
