  • Need assistance with a Blackstar ID:CORE BEAM amp problem

Greetings and Hello to all! I am needing some help troubleshooting a Blackstar ID:CORE BEAM. I have contacted Blackstar who told me that since I am in the United States that I would need to contact KORG as they handle Blackstar's US interests. So, I contact KORG and tell them about my issue. It seems that my ID:CORE BEAM has just stopped putting out any audio. Nothing comes through the speakers and nothing comes through the headphones. KORG informs me that since the amp is out of warranty I would need to have one of their authorized repair facilities check it out and that the cost to repair could very well exceed the cost of a new unit.

Not exactly the news I was hoping for. Anyway, turns out the closest authorized repair center is many, many miles away. So we have 2 strikes already. Distant to dealer and high cost of repair. At this point I decide to drop a message to both KORG in the USA and Blackstar in the UK. I ask them if there is any information that they could give me in order to try and troubleshoot the problem on my own. Unlike my initial emails which were answered within a few days, I have now been waiting for weeks to hear back. Nothing from either of them. So.....................

Here I am asking for help on this forum. Does anyone have any idea why my amp may have decided to stop putting out audio? It was working fine. I put it up on a bookshelf for a couple months and when I took it down to use again the problem reared it's ugly head. All of the lights and indicators seem to be working fine. I even tried to use "tuner mode" and was able to see the lights change to indicate my twisting of the guitar's machine heads. Thus I assume signal is going in but, nothing is coming out. Any ideas? What could be going on? I was able to remove the control panel on top and could see no obvious problems. What wires I could see looked fine. The speakers are sealed inside so I can't tell if there is an issue inside. I'm guessing it has to be in the electronic panel somewhere since I have lost audio from the speakers and the headphones. Any ideas? I sure hope someone can lead me in the right direction. Thanks to all in advance. I look forward to seeing the replies.

Did this thing come with any instructions on how to reset everything to factory defaults ? It usually involves holding down a button or two while turning the power on.

I couldn't see anything resembling an Effects Loop in the pictures I found on Ebay.
WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.

The manual says hold down REV, MOD, DLY while switching it on, then hold them until the LED countdown is done.

You could also see if there is any audio sent over the USB if you plug it into a PC or MAC, don't know if that would show up in Windows or only in DAW software.
