  • Fender Frontman 25R DC on Output

    Schematic attached.

Amp is buzzing and I am reading -25V DC on the output.

I assume that the TDA1514A needs replacement but I could use advice on what to check, and other components that may need replacement.

    Thank you

The TDA 1514 may very well be at fault.
I would carefully remove it and see if the Vdc is gone.
    Another culprit could be D13.

Check that you have correct +/- supply voltages at the supply pins of the TDA. Also at the op-amps in preamp section.

        TDA1514 & TDA1514A is the same as the NTE7118.
I would desolder pin 5 and check the short ciruit is betwee pin 5 and pin 4, the negative rail.
If it is still there, the chip is faulty.

If you can't fix it, I probably can.

Supplies are good on all rails. TDA pin 3 is only reading -19 V, pin 6 is 26 V.

          Read - 26 V at R70 and D13
