looking for advice on finding a good tda2050 chip for a frontman15r. the amp came in with a blown fuse. i replaced the tda2050 with a tda2030 and the amp sounds great! so the ic chip was blown ,but ,i found out that the fm15r has a too high rail voltage for the tda2030. the tda2030 sounds good but how long can it survive being over voltaged by 5 volts? does anyone know where to get a new tda 2050?

I couldn't find any reliable sources for the TDA2050, but a direct cross is an NTE7169 and there are a few places on the web that appear to have stock of those. You can search that part number and find other suppliers that have stock, but here is one.

LM1875 ought be easily sourced and drop in replacement too.

i watch a video about how to drop in a lm7169 and it looks a little complicated, but the lm1875¿ gotta check that out. not sure i trust the sources for the nte chip either, but i did manage to find an old tda2050 inside another old frontman carcass! cheers.
