  • 7025A tube replacement for a Ampeg B15S from 70's

    Good morning....I have some 6L6GC tubes here with the same pin out as the 7025A..(pins 1 and 6 not used)....are these tubes safe to use in this application?? plate voltage in the Ampeg is around 540Vdc...I have seen somewhere that they can't handle this voltage level??? I thought that they could but no entirely sure so that is why I came here to ask.....the old rca tube manuals show max. levels which are not quite as high as the plate voltage in this amp....any advice greatly appreciated.....

    Do you mean 7027A? That is what I see listed on B15s schematics.

      Yes, if they are good quality 6L6GC they will work fine in there instead of 7027. The factory bias is quite cold which helps.
