  • Tiesco Checkmate 20 light bulbs

    Hello
I just purchased a Tiesco Checkmate 20 tube amp in great shape. Needed to clean the pots but other than that the light bulbs are burned out. They seem to be a part of the fixture. Does anyone know if they can be replaced and a supplier for them or if not a procedure to keep the original fixture and replace the bulb. Thanks in advance for your help.

They seem to be part of the fixture? I would guess there is a lamp socket. You press on the bulb, give it a slight twist, and it should pop out.

Here is the schematic - https://schematicheaven.net/bargainb...eckmate_20.pdf

The bulbs should be standard 6vac types. "https://www.tubesandmore.com/product...a-bayonet-base"

I am not sure why there are two bulbs.... but the schematic shows that. Perhaps someone else can weigh in.

I believe they are a screw in type. They sit in quite deep so you need to make a tool out of a piece of rubber tubing or something similar to get a grip on it.

G1 - looks like you are correct. Sorry for my misinformation. Looks like one bulb is the power and the other a standby? If those bulbs are hard to find, I would swap out the holder and use a standard bayonet type bulb.

In middle position the RS switch shorts the speaker output.
          Brute force standby I'd say.

Yikes! I'd be ditching that arrangement right away.
