Cuts in and out. Power light fades and surges. Fender-deluxe

Does the whole amp really fade in and out, or is it just the bulb?

Bulb sockets get loose, dirty, oxidized, bent, whatever.

If the whole amp does it, check the AC cord, the power switch, the internal mains wiring, and the wiring from the transformer to the rest of the circuit.
