Looking for some advice on recovering grille cloth... This Rivera amp has crumbly cloth. It is from 2007 old but the cloth is turning to dust in my hands.
In the bottom left pic I can see how the cloth wraps around the baffle and is stapled. I feel I can handle that bit OK with a staple gun. The bit that confuses me is where the cloth disappears into a groove at the top of the baffle (bottom right pic). I am guessing that it is secured with the piping. Perhaps it is glued too as I can see a little residue on the front. I guess this will become clearer when dismantling.
For replacement, I am thinking the best approach is thin stretchy cloth. For the upper slot first, followed by bottom, and then sides to ensure that the cloth is lined up nicely. There is a good video by Uncle Doug that illustrates this technique. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQ1H...nnel=UncleDoug
Would appreciate any tip, tool suggestions to ensure best possible results before I go ahead and make a big mess of it.
