  • Noise from logo light

    Hmmmm.....actually hummmm.....
Got a boootique heavy metal amp here with a big "cold cathode" square light panel that lights up the logo of this here amp.
problem is, it's creating a gnarly hum...
tried filtering the -15v supply which goes to the power inverter for the cold cathode light.
tried shielding the light and inverter....still hums....pull plug from light and it's dead quiet.
    Anyone come across anything similiar?
Any ideas on quieting this thing?
    Thanks.

I am thinking noisy inverter, but contact the boootique and ask them if they are aware of any noise issues and have a recommended correction.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

Yeah, I sent them an email...we'll see if I get a response.
The funny thing is the hum is most noticeable on the clean channel.
it's a typical buzzzz like from a neon light.
