  • Affect of resistor in amp input?

My Laney has a 68K resistor in line on the input(ie: guitar cable tip-resistor-hot lead of input) of the high gain input. What would be its purpose and what affect would increasing or decreasing its value make?Bob

OK installed a 470k. I think its helped a lot really. Hasnt affected the gain really. Heck almost seems like it has more-go figure! However its not as buzzy, fizzy and overloaded sounding. So far so good. Bob
