  • BOSS GE7 sub HA12017[SIL] FOR dil equiv

    Howdy

I about to mod one of the older GE-7 equaliser pedals with the HA12017 SIL chip.
Whilst I'm in and replacing the other chips, I'd like to have a crack at this one too.
I figured I could frankenstein up an 8 pin DIL wirewrap socket [long leads] to make the physical conversion possible but I was wondering what pins 3 & 5 on the HA12017chip do?
Can I just sub it for a good single op amp [eg OPA134] and forget about these pins?

Pin 3 sets the internal bias currents, and pin 5 is for compensation.

If you don't know what that means, just leave it alone, especially since it's already a pretty good low-noise amp.
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"
