Hi,
I have an amp head that gives me a choice of 4,8 and 16 ohms. The cab I have has 2 16 ohm speakers and it is wired for 8 ohms.
I would like to be able to run the cab two ways.
1) As wired with both speakers 8 ohms at the jack.
2) One speaker at 16 ohms.
If I disconnect one wire going to the second speaker and install a simple toggle switch to turn that speaker on and off, when off the amp head will not see the second speaker right? So on would be 8 ohms and off would be 16and all I'd have to do is change which jack to plug into on the head.
I just want to make sure that the extra bit of wire going to the second speaker and dead ending at the toggle wont harm my amp head when running a single speaker at 16 ohms.
I know my post is elementary but I can't know it until I know it.
Thanks,
Max
