Switchable Reverb for Fender HRD

Hello,

Today I decided to do a mod from the website:

It all seemed fairly easy I thought, so I started doing this mod with a relay (I've also read that I could have done it by grounding out the potmeter of the reverb) but since I already bought the relay, I decided to do it this way also the LED status attracted me.

Now the problem is that it's not pop free at all with me and it doesn't work like it should. Can someone help me on the points I need to connect from resistor R35 to the relay. I just can't get it working without pop.

I used shielded wire when taking of the current from the diode and also from the resistor R35.

I'm guessing that the common remedy of using a 2 or 3 Meg Ohm resistor across the relay contacts would eliminate the pop and not upset the impedances in the signal circuit.
Wire the relay contacts across the Reverb pot wiper and ground.

An alternate method for this entire thing is to use an RCA Y connector with the correct male and female ends, connect your shielded coax to the Y connector [one leg goes on the tank with a male RCA, one leg goes to the RCA plug previously plugged into the tank] and use a footswitch or relay to short the signal to ground.
Another precaution is to install a diode across the relay coil with anode to ground (ie, reverse bias) to kill any inductive pulse that occurs when the relay is de-energized.

I tried both the resistor and the diode, the pop just remains

I used an inverter (CD4007) now with the help of Geofex and it stopped popping! Finally a good clear result
