Clipping a treble cap on Gretsch 6150T

Hi all,

I own a 60's Gretsch 6150T and it has two inputs. One is Treble, which gives you a pretty bright sound, but with NO Bass! It's very midrangy. The other input is labeled Bass. This gives you a more balanced Bass tone, but really constricts the Treble. Even with the tone turned all up, not that bright.

Is there a capacitor that's effecting each input? Can that be disconnected/removed so that I can can get the full frequency range out of this amp? I wouldn't mess with serious mods, but a minor clipped cap would be ok with me to get better tone.

This photo is what mine looks like, but I have the 8" circular Jensen speaker. I also downloaded a schematic from this site if it helps. I can understand a little of it, but I need someone to see if it's possible.

The most weird design I must say, the regular input is the full tone, try jumping the 100K out, might couple the guitar pick up better. The treble input try parallel a 0.02 or what ever you have. The tone control is a real high end roll off, try reducing to 470 UUf,

The speaker looks oval, make the effort at removing the grill cloth and cut out the speaker baffle, to allow the round speaker to work better.

The photo shown is NOT my amp. It looks almost identical to it, but mine has a round Jensen C10R speaker. I think the ones with the oval speakers are slightly older designs. But it's essentially identical otherwise.

Can I test by using a little wire to bypass the capacitor? I have some small alligator clips and wire. I could do that to see if there's any change in tone.
