  • Speaker attenuators ...

Hello all... Newbie here . I have a peavey classic 30 ... Heard some great things about it and picked it up for a steal $300. Thinking about dummy loads, anyone deal with units like the weber mass attenuator?

Yes, I've use a MASS attenuator, they are very nice units IMO. Though I tend to stick with resistive attenuators, I like their performance and simplicity.

I use a Hot Plate and am happy with it. It's only good for a specific ohmage though. Available in 2,4,8,16 ohms. Can also be used as a dummy load with no speaker connected -nice for working on amps.

...the simple resistive "L-pad" with a Zobel-RC "snubber" circuit works quite well.
...and the Devil said: "...yes, but it's a DRY heat!"
