  • Standby switch?

Hey guys can someone drirect me on the proper way to install a standby switch on my amp? It's a new build and it only has a single power switch at this time. How do I wire the standby to the exixting switch,I just need to know the connections.? My ami is similar to the 5e3 circuit with no pcb board, only PTP hand wired. Thanks in advance.

There are a couple of different ways to do it, about half way down the page Merlin discusses some of the most common ones: The Valve Wizard

There is no proper way, there are only a whole bunch of ways that work. One is as proper as another. They are there to mute the amp.

Yeah, like that Silvertone 1484 that just shorts across the grids of the 6L6's.

If you're using a tube rectifier, I'd be inclined to skip it.

Ya, I am using a tube rectifier so I'll forget about the stand-by switch.
              Thanks for your input guys.
