  • Super Reverb SF correct filter resistor values?

    Hi,
This is my first post to this very knowlegeable forum.
I'm about to replace the filter caps in my -74 SF, and at the same time
replace the 'dropping resistors' next to the large capacitors. I have studied
the available schematics which all say 4.7k and 1k for these resistors.
When I look what's in the amp they are 10k and 2,2k. See attached photo.
My amp is an export 220v model, and seems to be completely stock.

What puzzles me is, when I check my other SR (a -66 Blackface) it has the 4.7k and 1k resistors. This amp had the caps replaced before I got it.The BF is also a 220v amp.
Why the difference? What values should I use for replacement?

The '74 schem I found indicates 2.2k and 10k are the correct values.

Different amp. Different designer with different preferences about how to operate the tubes.

Do you like the way this amp sounds? If you do then use the values that are in there.

Ok, thanks alot Chuck, smoke cleared. Do you have a pointer handy
for the correct schem? I only found the BF version or SR master vol.
