If you're married to that style turret then you're going to have to pay.
In my experience many military and industrial uses of turrets back in the day preferred normal non-hollow turrets to the hollow sort. I work for a company that grew out of an old Navy lab and we still have quite a few bags of keystone 1503-3 turrets. They're not a normal guitar amp turret but you'll find builders like Dr. Z using something very similar.
I bought a large lot of various turrets on ebay about 8 or 9 months ago that included hollow, feed-thru and double turrets of various sizes. I've found that it's handy to have a few different styles to match the kind of components you intend to use. I have ones to fit 1/16" and 3/32" gpo or garolite. The 3/32" ones work great in 1/8" board if you lightly countersink the backside of the holes.
If you're building a standard marshall design, use the 1540 turrets like you're looking for and be prepared to pay for it!
If you're building something new and different, design your boards to use whatever turrets you can get cheap! I've been ordering small caps like some of the xicon and epcos film caps so I can pack lots of parts onto some rather small boards. Not sure how it'll turn out yet!
