5F6A Alternate Input scheme

On my latest project I have a 5F6A channel with occupies 3 input jacks. Normal,Bright and Link. Link runs both normal and bright together. Since normal and bright both have individual volume controls it seems like I can just leave the guitar plugged into Link and just turn one of the volume's to 0 to get the "other" channel.

I guess what I'm asking is what would be the difference:
1. Plugged into normal
2. Plugged into link with bright volume at "0"

Reference 5F6A schematic with both channels jumped.

Just curious if I can free up one of the input jacks without loosing functionality.

Looks like I will have to somehow do an A/B test

Did an A/B test. At first I thought there was a big difference but now I'm second guessing myself. Need one of those A/B/X boxes!
