  • Special 130 Reverb

Here I am again with my Peavey problems. The reverb in this amp is pretty crap so I thought as I had been given a new tank I would try it. The thing is it is a 9AB3D1B which is a low impedance input (10ohm). Is there any way I can modify the reverb driver circuit to match the driver coil, change of resistors maybe.??
Any advice will be much appreciated.
    Cheers Dave.

That is the wrong pan for this amp, and that would explain the crappy sound. This is the same 4558 based reverb drive PV has used for decades. No there is no way to change the amp to accomodate teh wrong pan, what it need is to drop in the RIGHT pan.

    You need a 4EB2C1B or a 9EB2C1B.

If the old pan is working but crappy, determine if the cables are in the right jacks on the pan. And at worst, maybe a new 4558 IC on the amp circuit board.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
