  • Power For an FX Loop (Ironsounds) How To ??

Greetings, I'm hooking up an FX loop, I have the signal wires done, can't determine

exactly where to derive the power from. The instructions state to hook Vin(voltage in)

to "2nd power filter after 1st filter rc network" . I have spot that seems to fit that

description, would provide about 350 volts??, I'm just not sure.Hoping maybe someone

here has installed one, fairly popular.

Sounds like they refer to the screen node. Tell us what amp you are working with and we can point to specific parts.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

I'm working on an Ironsounds traveler 18-watt, its a pcb(quickie) amp. Ironically, they have spots for the inputs but not power.I have been unable to contact them directly via e-mail.I suppose this would be high B+ voltage.......Thank you enzo.

ok, I have 3- 33uf caps coming off the rectifier, then 2-22uf caps that follow all filtering caps I suppose. After the 3rd 33uf, I have turret labeled TP6

that can be used, would this work.Or, after the first 22uf there is a turret available. The FX power supply consists off 2-5W, 1-20K,1-25K resistors. Then 2-470uf caps for additional filtering and shunting I suppose.Which spot fits the 2nd filter cap description best....Regards...crunch

It would be helpful if you could post a schematic of this amp...

And the FX loop your installing in it.

Its an Ironsounds fx loop, the guitar signal is moving through the loop, the bypass switch works fine, but when I insert an effect the signal is not effected.Apparently the signal is not reaching the send jack.I'll see if I can get the schematic up.....Thanks folks
