First a big thanks, I have learned much reading through this forum.

I typically see individual screen grid resistors attached directly to the sockets. This amp uses one 2k-5w resistor at the B+2 filter cap then runs to both tubes. Is this a noise issue? Should I run B+2 to individual 2K's attached directly to each socket?

Secondly should the rectifier diodes be updated for noise or safety reasons?

I see the 2k-5w resistor is only 1/2w I assume from the factory. I'll replace that lightly browned resistor for sure.

    EDIT: typo fixed

Well...it is December. Anyway, I wouldn't worry about the diodes. They are 600v PIV. If you don't have any noise issues with the amp I would leave everything as designed. If you want to replace the resistor for reliability it certainly won't hurt anything. You could double up new rectifier diodes if you like, but I assume it has been running fine for a long time. I would be more concerned about having fresh filter caps.

I installed new filter caps and most others some time ago. It is noisy compared to my 80's fender but I have no reference as to what is expected from 69 tube amps.

I will order wire wound for what the schematic says should be 5w as that is consistent with other amps I've seen and it is fairly cooked. As long as the diodes are immune to time I will take your advice and leave as is. Thanks
