  • Adding Footswitch to Dc-30 or similar amp?

I have a link for the schematic for the weber 6d30 which as I understand is almost exactly like a matchless dc-30. What is the best or a method of implementing a footswitch to switch among the 12ax7 and the ef86? I would really just like to use 1 input on the amp and footswitch between the two rather than have 4 inputs.

    Weber 6d30

    Thanks for your help.

why not just use an a/b switch into the two inputs?

That amp is really at its best when cranked up pretty high. Are you expecting a clean/dirty transition from having two channels?

      I lost my reply somehow.

I don't own this amp. I am writing on behalf of a friend. I can mention the a/b box though. Is it also possible to tie the input grid of the ef86 to the grid of the 12ax7 into the 68k resistor to one input?

      Thanks

You could do that I guess. The way they're summed, assuming you build it like the hand drawn schematic on schematic heaven, would be fine and the two channels would be in phase so you could blend them.

My personal opinion- I don't think I'd bother with the non-pentode channel unless I built it more like a marshall front end. In fact, I'd build a pentode channel with a dr z/traynor style tone control and forget the other channel.
